Nightwing has had many different costumes. He first wore a gunmetal gray costume that was made of steel, then he went to a blue outfit with a red cape, and finally went to his current costume which is black and red.
The character's first costume was created by Dennis O'Neil, who designed it to fit the needs of close-up superhero photography and as a reflection of his modernized origins. The second Nightwing costume was originally designed by Greg Land, who also redesigned the original suit. The new suit has elements from Tony Stark's MK II Armor, the costume is a suit that clings to his body and has less armor than the first. The third Nightwing costume was created by Dustin Nguyen, who designed it as a modern-day Samurai.

Nightwing is known as Dick Grayson, a young acrobat with an eidetic memory and the natural agility of someone born to perform. Raised by his teacher, Batman, Nightwing had tried crime-fighting long before he had been legally allowed to officially join the superhero community.
The Nightwing logo features a large bird in blue and red with the word 'Nightwing' in yellow. The design is reflective of the name Dick Grayson which can be broken down into two names, one meaning 'of the dark' and the other 'warrior'. It also represents his affiliation with Batman's superhero team, The Dark Knight.
The Nightwing costume is of a black, yellow and blue color scheme. It has long sleeves with three-quarter length legs in red and black, and it contains his symbol on the front. The top matches the back, but is open at the front to signify aerial acrobatics. He also wears a utility belt around his waist to carry items such as his grapple gun.
Nightwing has a number of gadgets that he uses in his crime fighting with many references to birds (his favorite) which all have different functions. Some, like the Birdarang for instance, are weapons used for combat while others like the Wingsuit allow him to move through the air quickly and efficiently.
As a superhero, Nightwing fights crime. He has had numerous encounters with the super-villain known as 'Hush' over the years and is often seen alongside Batman, Superman and The Flash when fighting criminals and super villains across America. He also assists in training other superheroes who are new to the field such as Robin, Batgirl and Green Arrow.
In regards to personality, Nightwing is strong-willed and street smart. He is a confident leader who likes to get the job done as quickly as possible while also making sure that he keeps all of his teammates safe from harm. He has very little patience for laziness or recklessness on the part of his comrades.
His favourite food is chocolate and he has a good friendship with another member of the superhero community, Barbara Gordon alias Batgirl (who is also a computer expert), as they were partners as young crime fighters in Gotham City. He has since had a romantic relationship with her ex-girlfriend, Starfire from DC comics' Teen Titans comic book series.
Growing up, Nightwing did not want to be a superhero but was pushed into the role due to his special skills and powers. From a young age he trained as an acrobat with Batman and Robin (who would later become his sidekick) and took part in numerous activities together such as team sports, swimming lessons and academic lessons.
His parents were killed in a tragic circus accident when he was 8 and Batman took him under his wing, raising him as a crime-fighting partner who had to balance the need for adventure with schoolwork and family life. This created a love/hate relationship between the two of them due to Batman's strict rules about safety and training along with his lack of parenting skills. Nightwing would eventually grow up to become Bruce Wayne's ward and become like a son to him, causing Batman to loosen his grip over the boy who was now legally an adult.
Nightwing is named after the bird due to his acrobatic skills, agility, fighting prowess and intelligence. He is not as well known as the Teen Titan group, such as Robin and Superboy, but has many of Batman's qualities if he was a few years younger.
As far as superpowers go, Nightwing possesses enhanced strength, endurance and agility which allows him to do handstands on walls with ease and he can make a long jump from one building to another whilst being in midair. He is also an expert marksman due to his one-on-one training with Batman, as well as proficient in martial arts and can do flips, cartwheels and backflips at will.
Like Batman, Nightwing's greatest asset is his intelligence which allows him to design gadgets, create elaborate plans and escape dangerous situations.
Among the heroes who help to keep civilians safe from harm is Nightwing. He uses his skills and experience as a former sidekick to Batman (in fact he was Robin at one point) in order to protect the city of Bludhaven using all of his skills and abilities acquired throughout his life.
His superpowers include heightened strength, agility and endurance which he uses to perform acrobatic stunts such as back bends, somersaults and flips in order to defeat his foes.
He has also been trained in the martial arts by Batman when he was younger which allows him to perform moves such as sidekicks and backflips.
As a former member of the Teen Titans, Nightwing has also been trained in computer hacking and can create a detailed plan to defeat his enemies in no time at all.
Nightwing is often seen alongside Superman when fighting against super villains due to their similar powers and charisma. They have worked together many times so they know how to work together in a team. His relationship with Superman is very good, on par with his relationship with Batman (who he doesn't like much!).
His favorite food is chocolate and he likes nothing better than sitting down to a nice cup of hot cocoa when tackling difficult tasks as it makes him feel at home. He also likes to eat red meat, carrots and fish. He has a sweet tooth which means he loves cakes and desserts above all else besides his hot cocoa!
His greatest weaknesses are that he is severely allergic to peanuts and often sneezes when he eats too many sweets or chocolate (although not in the movies). When this happens, his superpowers leave him and he becomes extremely tired and worn out. He also suffers from physical injuries when he is on the job and this means that his acrobatic skills are no match for his enemies…
Despite all of this, Nightwing is a very strong hero who has several great qualities – including hard work, integrity and loyalty – which makes him respected in the city he is fighting for. He is brave, courageous and determined to save civilians from danger wherever it may occur which makes him a true superhero icon!

Battle with Blockbuster: During a battle against his arch enemy, Nightwing was captured and forced to eat peanuts by his foe. This caused him to lose all of his superpowers and led to the defeat of both himself and Blockbuster. The two were then taken into police custody where they each faced a prison sentence for their crimes
