The scorpion jacket in Drive symbolizes the constant need for control. The blackjacket is first seen when the protagonist, Driver, is confronting Bernie Rose. He wants control of the situation and grabs his coat to show it. From this scene, we learn that Driver needs control so much that he's willing to fight with Bernie for it.
