Who is Oliver Queen ?
Oliver Queen is a fictional character who has been published by DC Comics, and has been created by Tony S. Daniel and Geoff Johns.
The character made his debut in the New 52's "Titans" #1, and was created by writer Dan Abnett, with artwork from Brett Booth. The character is a somewhat controversial breakaway from the traditional portrayal of Green Arrow previously established in DC continuity, though this new take on Oliver Queen has been met positively by his fans. He is the leader of a group of young heroes made up of Speedy, Kid Flash, and Aqualad.
Oliver Queen Death
Oliver Queen is the son of Robert Queen and Moira Queen. He was also the best friend of Tommy Merlyn, son of Malcolm Merlyn and Rebecca Moira Roche .
The two boys grew up together, becoming best friends and confidants. This bond quickly became further strengthened when Oliver's father died while he was an infant: the death of Robert Queen left Moira devastated, shocked and hopeless. Tommy took it upon himself to be there for her, providing a shoulder to cry on; being ever present in her life to help her deal with the tragedies.
As Oliver grew older, he and Tommy became closer than ever; though they had their disagreements (such as being arranged in a boxing match by Malcolm Merlyn after they both insulted his wife's intellect), they were usually able to set aside differences for the sake of maintaining their friendship. When Tommy was sent to a prestigious boarding school in England, Oliver initially spent nearly every summer with him.
Their relationship became so strong that it even outlasted Oliver's return home to Starling City; he often worked as his best friend's re-election campaign manager - and even filled in as an intern on his father's mayoral reelection campaign. Tommy was not only a confidant for the Queen family, but also a mentor for Oliver. When the Queen family moved to Starling City, Oliver was immediately taken with the city - and his fascination quickly turned into a desire to make a difference. The two explored the city together: running through cemeteries, climbing buildings and even getting caught sneaking in by an armed guard; they were always acting on some idea or another that their minds came up with.
Tommy supported Oliver's every move: he helped him design a logo for his human rights campaign, offered advice when he first developed an interest in cars and even managed to get him on the guest list at one of his father's charity balls when Oliver was too shy to speak up. It became clear that Tommy took it upon himself to be a sort of guide for Oliver - almost like an older brother that he never had.
Oliver was devastated when Tommy died in the Merlyn family's mansion, falling and dying upon impact with the floor below. He left a note behind, distressed that his father would move on so quickly after his mother's death. This incident and murder propelled Oliver into his long crusade against crime.
