Planet of the Apes Summary
The story goes to General Ursus, who returns from the hunt, and eats alone and silently before leaving to join a group of gorillas and a council meeting. The internal monologue of General Ursus labels the politicians and academics of his kind as enemies. The group of military leaders arrive as Chancellor Inez says. Taemis, who introduced he is interested in the problem of scarcity and low food resources. Dr. Taemis admits that the human consumption of gorillas leads to famine. Dr. Taemis offers to separate the money and resources from the army and raise the soldiers to a farm.
General Ursus loses his patience and confronts the council. He blames people for their inadequacies and calls on the council to endorse a military campaign to aggressively kill people. General Ursus abandons the council in anger. The inner monologue raises the question of whether the people or the municipality posed a greater threat to the survival of the gorillas.
The story continues today. Ursus visits a council member. He tells the council they found a man with dark skin. Ursus Costume urges the consultant to let people be killed by using the experience of the past as evidence. General Ursus says that doing nothing can destroy the gorillas. The city council rejected the logic of Ursus fearfully and irrationally.
Meanwhile, Munch is back, with General Ursus. Taemis will follow him. They witness dark-skinned conversations in a language they understand. They believe the man called his friends. General Ursus interprets the discovery of human intelligence as proof that he has more. Ursus believes this because he calls his friends.
